This is the PAINE Podcast. A podcast for physician assistants to prepare for passing the PANCE/PANRE, as well as staying up to date on clinical literature. Every month I breakdown a topic on the NCCPA blueprint and tell you what you need to know when studying for your boards. I also tackle the current literature that may be practice changing, as well as other emerging medical practice topics.

Episode #64 - KDIGO Guidelines for CKD

I haven’t done much during the 2 week block for GU and renal, but I do teach the nephrology section at my program.  So for this podcast, I thought I would review the KDIGO/KDOQI guidelines for evaluation and management of CKD.

    #63 - Osteoathritis Treatment Updates

    #63 - Osteoathritis Treatment Updates

Since the MSK section of the PANCE comprises both orthopaedics and rheumatology, I thought I would cover the treatment options for osteoarthritis from the 2019 ACR updates since both specialties see and manage this.

Annezca ,

Excellent Podcasts for all medical learners!

I came across Kristopher’s podcast after following him on twitter (@pa_maday). His podcast is excellent quality (and consistently excellent), better than many FOAMed and other medical podcasts that I have listened to.

He is concise, presents in an easily digestible manner. In addition to that he provides great diagrams, and key points in corresponding blog posts so you can review what you learned. The topics he covers are well researched (with a list of references in corresponding episode blog entry) evidence-based, filled with clinical pearls, and are very clinically focused without getting lost in details. He presents whats relevant! Each month he covers different areas of medicine (as an Ortho PA, I of course enjoy MSK month the most). Great delivery too; whereas some medical podcasts feels like the podcaster reads off a jot-noted lists on medical conditions, Kristopher presents in a very easy-to-listen manner, like he’s having a conversation with you. Definitely appreciate his perspective of different topics from an Emergency Medicine point of view.

I’ve recommended this podcast to PA students that have completed rotations with us and to fellow PA colleagues. Please keep up the great work!!
