Can Saudi Money Whitewash a Murder?: World Corrupt Season 2, Episode 4

Can Saudi Money Whitewash a Murder?: World Corrupt Season 2, Episode 4

In the final episode of this four-part series, Rog and Tommy trace the massive flow of Saudi money into Hollywood, Silicon Valley and Wall Street, and how the biggest venture capitalists and A-list celebrities seem to no longer care about Saudi Arabia’s human rights record. They also look back at the history of the US-Saudi relationship, and how President Biden went from pleading to make Saudi Arabia a “pariah” to traveling there to fist bump Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Jeddah. And finally, they dive into the possible motivations behind Saudi Arabia’s investments, from the need to diversify the Saudi economy, to whitewashing the murder of Jamal Khashoggi and changing the subject from other human rights violations. Despite all the depressing news, Rog and Tommy try to find glimmers of hope where grassroots activism and football can lead the way in creating a more just world. All of this and more, on the final episode of World Corrupt, Season 2.

Request to support a smaller Pod

Hi, I enjoy the show. I find Tommy’s and Ben’s take on the Middle East as honest and transparent as I’m sure is possible for them.

I don’t have Twitter and I’m not sure how else or where else to ask this question.

I listened to an episode of the death panel podcast today titled ‘letters from gaza w/danyo Qato.

Would you and your Worldos give this episode a listen?

The Pod’s host asks Danyo Qato, a researcher with the University of Maryland Baltimore, questions provided by listeners in Gaza.

Her responses are deeply emotional and sound very well informed. At minimum, they provide a perspective on Gaza and the West Bank that isn’t often heard.

Thank you.

Completely lost any credibility

It became completely impossible to listen to this podcast. Its gone way too far in defending and finding excuses for islamic jihadists. The analysis and points became so shallow and predefined, to the point that the narrative is absolutely predictable. I wish hosts listen and explore more opinions and have the guts to start shifting their narrative, which is becoming pathetic.
