I rolled out on my skates with my jammer star

The score is neck to neck- it’s really bizarre

There on the track, straight ahead

The blocker wall is stopping me dead

I couldn’t whip, so I look to my right,

However to get to my pivot in sight?

I’m screamin' for help, I can’t get through the pack

I need my pivot to complete a star pass.

We must stay up, in play, and in bounds,

The ref’s calling penalties all round,

Feeling the burn, deep in my thighs,

And somehow I found my pivot stripe,

I waved at her head, she rushed to me and said,

“Give me the cover for a little while!”

I did not throw, so I won’t ruin this,

This pivot-jammer metamorphosis.

We’re both in bounds and I know we’re both upright

And the jammer status goes to pivot tonight!
