Our guest today is Trung Pham, CEO & Founder of RYSE, an IOT company that creates smart home devices that motorizes your window shades, controllable by smartphone, where schedules can be set, or integrated via smart home platforms or voice speakers like Google Home or Amazon Alexa.

Since launching in 2015, they are filling the “missing piece in the smart home” having proven product-market fit with $7 million in lifetime revenues and over 40,000 units sold, with their technology featured by TechCrunch, CNET, Fox News, CBS. They've been awarded a $4 million Cleantech Environmental Grant to automate shades in commercial buildings, and were awarded the Mark of Excellence for the 2017 Motorized Product of the Year by the Consumer Technology Associations.

In this episode, we chat with Trung as he discusses the need for technology in a home, the future of green homes, and the realities of founding a startup.
