Valuable contribution

i wish Sandy would let Nora speak more as she has far more incisive takes.

I want to like this show

I really and truly do. I follow both Nora and Sandy on twitter, and was generally interested in listening to a podcast with their interesting insights and opinions, particularly when it comes to the complex dichotomy of being a colored person in Canada (as I am).

Instead what we have here is a muddled, unfocused string of spiels and tangential conversations that are delivered in mostly chortles and contrived sighs. Sandy is particularly to blame here, seemingly unable to get through a sentence without laughing or sounding like she’s too exacerbated to be bothered with her own thought process. I find it hard to even get halfway through the podcast, as you both seem unprepared in your notes, subject matter, and sticking to the topic at hand. There is also a woeful lack of any genuine insight, or even stepping outside of your own experiences - just to set up context at the very least, to add dimension to the conversations your attempting to have. It feels like everything is being discussed in a vacuum. And maybe that’s the point of the show, but I feel like you both could do much more.

I genuinely want to hear what you folks have to say, as the Canadian mediascape has a dearth of ethnic and diverse voices speaking on topics of any importance (Desmond Cole notwithstanding, and a shout-out to Canadaland), so I am rooting for you both. I want this to be a part of my weekly listening. I want to hear what prominent women and people of color in Canada have to say.

I will continue to listen as you folks find your footing.
