I have one goal: to help you think differently about exercise so you can move more of your body, more often, in more and more interesting ways. None of us want to exercise harder or longer to get good results (we have jobs, families, and lives). We want to exercise smarter not harder, and we want to have fun while doing it.

As I, Coach Brock Armstrong (formerly the Get-Fit Guy), begin the second half of my first century on this planet (I just turned 50), I will use my background in Cognitive Behavioural Theory, endurance sport, and a lifelong love of movement to help you move through this world with ease, now and later in life. This podcast isn’t about getting skinny, ripped, or jacked - but it is about being fit, capable, strong, healthy, and happy!

Whether you were fit when you were younger and let it slide, you never found a fitness program that worked for you, or you are just tired of working so hard to stay fit, it’s time to get your second wind.

Why I Swim in Cold Water

Why I Swim in Cold Water

When I posted that I was swimming in cold water on Social Media, I immediately started getting questions about why I would do this. Was it for longevity? To defeat chronic inflammation? To lose weight? To boost my immune system? And you know what, people seemed upset when I replied: “I just like it.”

How Using a Treadmill Wrong Can Benefit Your Genes

In this episode, I tell you about some specific ways to use a treadmill... incorrectly... but my greater point for this episode is to demonstrate that by being creative we can turn even the most dreaded of exercise machines into a fun game.

Getting Durable with Tim Waggoner (Endurance Planet)

My guest is a bit of a fitness bad ass. Tim "Lucho" Waggoner raced as a professional triathlete before switching his focus to ultra races. He switched once again to sprint distance races before really changing his focus to work on becoming as durable as possible. We get into what that means and how you can achieve it, in this episode.

How to Avoid Doing Too Much, Too Soon

How to Avoid Doing Too Much, Too Soon

I have seen a crazy statistic which states that somewhere between 65% and 80% of runners end up injured before they reach their goal. Now, whether it is 65 or 80, that's a pretty shocking number. But in this episode, I will give you some steps that you can take to protect yourself and avoid doing too much, too soon.
