In 1994, an air-conditioning-unit-installer and a small-time radio DJ joined together to create the largely popular radio duo Opie & Anthony. With a career spanning more than 20 years, they were loud, they were obnoxious, they were in your face, they wouldn’t let up. They started as brothers. They ended as enemies. But unlike other entertainment duos that break up, a full audience had the opportunity to listen into their relationship every day, and watch as it gradually crumbled. They got on the news, many times. They got people fired. They stirred up controversy, over and over and over again. They got fired. More than once. Relationships were made along the way, with heavy hitting comedians such as Jim Norton, Patrice O’Neal, Rich Vos, and Louis CK. Rivalries were formed, not just with other radio giants such as Howard Stern, but with each other. Their audience spanned millions of people around the country. Their reach was unmatched. This is their story. On this podcast, we’ll discuss the rise and fall of the two radio DJs who changed the face of radio.

Terrific work

This is an excellent account of the show we all loved and cringed with. Thanks Matt for doing such a professional job.

Next maybe you could do the current day with Opie, Jim and Anthony. It seems to me that Anthony came out the winner. Although I don't agree with his politics, which were funny on O&A he still has some great moments.

Meanwhile withe Opie, beach shots, and grief. Carl and Vic.
