Fabulous perspective

Having grown up in radio era where story telling was key programming, finding Short Cuts was such a gem. It fills that void around creative & meaningful perspective on life, that is so missing in today’s sensational news driven world. The creator is very talented at program topics, ideas, content, artistic storey telling and journalism...and what a fabulous voice. I can’t wait for next season!

Short Cuts is the Perfect Title

Josie Long has the best voice to introduce and add to this podcast. She always conveys enthusiasm and wonder which makes it a great listen. Love the variety of themes and I think I’ve learned a lot about so many topics, plus had a range emotions frequently engaged.

That voice

This podcast whenever I listen to it makes me think of one of my favourite Maurice Sendak quotes. I imagine it's a quote most everyone knows by now:

“Once a little boy sent me a charming card with a little drawing on it. I loved it. I answer all my children’s letters — sometimes very hastily — but this one I lingered over. I sent him a card and I drew a picture of a Wild Thing on it. I wrote, “Dear Jim: I loved your card.” Then I got a letter back from his mother and she said, “Jim loved your card so much he ate it.” That to me was one of the highest compliments I’ve ever received. He didn’t care that it was an original Maurice Sendak drawing or anything. He saw it, he loved it, he ate it.”

This pretty much sums up how I feel about listening to this podcast; I love it so much I wish I could eat it.
