this podcast is a gift

This podcast is an incredible gift, I am
so grateful! Definitely funny, heartbreaking at times, deeply insightful, and sometimes a lil
silly. (in the best way) Also, GIVE Andrew & Tawny your money. bye!

Unsubed

This show has finally shot itself in the foot. I am always eager to learn more about the experiences of others and I thought this show would be a useful tool. I have listened for several years hoping that there would be improvements. But episode after episode the hosts just laugh at the callers, and call every single person racist. One episode they told a caller “we know you’re racist because of the fact that you had to call a podcast to ask that question!” Why host a call in show if calling in proves a person to be racist? I am unsubscribing from this podcast as I believe their chickens finally came home to roost at their live show: several people in the audience all stood up to ask “questions” about “racism” and every single example of these so-called racists had the hosts completely confused about why the audience member would think racism was displayed in the anecdote they told. Well, I can answer it for you: it’s because the hosts have spent years breeding this energy. They laughed at and mocked all of their callers for so long, of course the live audience thought all they had to do was tell a story about a person they don’t like, and the hosts would pounce! After an intro of unfunny stories that had no one laughing except themselves, finally at the live show the hosts got to experience what the audience has experienced; scratching our heads and wondering what’s the point of the story, and how does this educate about racism?

Yo, is this interesting?

No. No it isn't. I listened to this show like 8 years ago and it had different hosts and was funny and to the point there was a specific target they analyzed for racism and assessed it quick and with a lot of humour while keeping it light. I'm not familiar with Andrew outside of this show, but I've heard Tawny on other podcasts so many times and she's incredibly engaging and a hilarious improviser, so I don't know why this show is so dour and boring. They don't even follow a structure really, it's like all these celebrity podcasts where they think casual ponderous babbling is good content. I get that racism is a serious subject, but the show's history, the network it's on and the "Yo" in the title imply it will be fun and it sooooo isn't. Sorry. Please don't call me racist because I don't like the show now. I'm an Indigenous Canadian, so I can pull persecuted rank if needed. But I won't. Take care out there everyone.
