Hide Yo' Kids: The Importance of Childcare w/ Dr. Susan Prentice - Feel Good Friday

This FGF starts off with a bang and quickly goes down the sh*tter. Tay slept in, Jeremie introduced a questionable character at a fundraiser, Lauren sprays coffee out of her eyeball and Brian legitimately almost vomits. Google image search "fatberg" and imagine how it smells. Then we get into something far more intellectual and important than all of that bullsh*t. We speak to Dr. Susan Prentice, a professor of sociology at the University of Manitoba, specializing in childcare policy and advocacy. We dive into the nuanced and tricky decision to open schools up fully during a global pandemic and how childcare is most certainly a social determinate of health!

Frequent listener!

I think this is such an amazing concept! As someone who works in the medical field, I love the chance to educate myself and hear about a persons personal journey through a disease. The fact that the hosts don’t have medical experience I think is amazing because lots of questions are what the general public wonders but are scared it might be disrespectful to ask; I think it’s a way for us all to realize either yes that’s inappropriate or no it’s not, and we need to ask more questions to properly educate ourselves. Love this podcast ❤️ The humour is amazing and makes uncomfortable situations have a light feel to them.

Funny, entertaining, and enlightening podcast

I started listening to Sickboy after looking for a podcast once the pandemic started. It is better than all of the other podcasts I tried to listen to beforehand! Educational yet also light and entertaining. Perfect podcast to listen to while I do paperwork. I know there are people who think that the hosts are offensive and tend to interrupt their guests, however, that is the chaos I have come to appreciate and it really is part of their podcast's aesthetic. If you're looking for a funny, entertaining, and enlightening podcast that makes you question societial norms around illness while also making you laugh, this one is for you!
