Welcome fellow SLEAZOIDS!!! Come along as hosts Josh Lewis and Jamie Miller (and, occasionally, guests) go down the rabbit hole of 20th century genre fare from the most influential canon classics to the the trashiest exploitation films we can get our hands on. Each week is a double feature—grindhouse style—where we discuss two films loosely related by subject, genre, actor, filmmaker or franchise and at the end of each episode, along with our HONORARY SLEAZOIDS (click on over to our patreon to become one), we decide on ratings and rankings for each film that's covered. Join us as together we work to uncover the best genre films of 20th century.

Hosts Josh and Jamie and special returning guest Esther Rosenfield (of Get Cynical and The Lost Broadcasts) discuss lo-fi independent horror films about folkloric forest beasts with a double feature of Charles B. Pierce's spooky regional faux-documentary about the Arkansas bigfoot THE LEGEND OF BOGGY CREEK (1972) and minimalist indie-horror legend Larry Fessenden's unnerving mix of emotionally cogent family drama and hallucinatory cannibal cryptid B-horror fable WENDIGO (2001).

Came for Jamie’s sexy voice,
stayed for Jamie’s hilarious jokes
Keep it sleazy
SLEAZOIDS is one of the only cool movie podcasts. Josh is the brains and Jamie is the heart, giving us their weekly thoughts on genre flicks from a hyper intellectual and a primal emotional perspective. Josh always delivers on these really granular insights into film photography and visual storytelling techniques great directors employ, noting the way that they’re able to manipulate our eyes. Even the nastiest, grimiest zero-budget fare is plumbed for that hint of genius you can find just about anywhere if you really look. Every single episode Jamie has an idea about the way that sound and music is used in a film that blows me away. It’s film shows like this one that really prove that craftspeople work their asses off making movies, and that means there’s almost always something valuable to be found in a movie, even if it’s deemed “disreputable” by prudish critics.
The guests range from soft spoken film critics and academics to delightfully unhinged horror superfans.
SLEAZOIDS is the type of pod that makes you wish you had more friends to talk about movies like this. Great stuff from two good old Ontarya boys.
Vastly entertaining
Great hosts, weird movies, insightful chat, neat guests… what more do you want from a movie podcast? Four stars!
What? They’re Canadian?
