Sober Curious? Here Are My Takeaways From Giving Up Alcohol The Bold Life Movement with Kimberly Rich

    • Self-Improvement

Wow! This is an episode I never thought I'd publish. The idea of giving up alcohol always seemed so impossible, so undesirable, so boring.
After completing my 6-week sober experiment, my experience couldn't be further from the truth. I've never felt clearer, happier, and more aligned. The once ever-present urge to have a glass of wine or a cold beer has completely subsided. And yet... all the social scenarios I dreaded giving up, continue to be available. So much of our relationship to alcohol is related to the stories we have about it, about ourselves, and the chemical hold it has on us that we may not even be aware of.
Whether you're a social drinker who craves a cleaner life, or your are someone who feels like you've been abusing the drug for a long time, there is hope in this episode for you.
In this episode, you'll learn:
Why I decided to run a 6-week sober experiment (vs. 4 weeks). How it felt during the first few weeks of detoxing (spoiler: the struggle was real). Some powerful resources for helping me to understand my experience. The life-changing impact this one decision has had on me. Why I'm not claiming to "never drink again." How easy this can be for you too (if it calls to you).  Here are some of the resources I discuss:
