Customer Reviews
Addressing MiCkYlOvE76
Firstly, Fr. Roderick is a fantastic podcaster. Although all these episodes have been removed, I can say this with certainty because of the immense amounts of other podcasts he has.
However, I would like to address MiCkYlOvE76's cute little criticism. I agree that all of his episodes gear toward a Christian-based moral lesson. Only a fool would expect otherwise; he's a priest. I checked over MiCkYlOvE76's other reviews, including one he gave stating that he would refuse to respect any serious religion. This should tell you something about his prejudiced and unbiased reviewing. I feel free to admit that I am a Christian, so you can take what I say on your own terms, too. Anyway, MiCkYlOvE76 suggests listening to Corey Olson's podcasts instead because they are "more objective." My response to this is that any intelligent analyst can tell from his lectures that he is a Christian. I knew this at the very beginning of his podcasts, and he recently confirmed it in a Q and A session.
greatest podcast ever
by far the greatest most exciting and interesting podcast ever. I really wish Rodrick would make more, but probably not cas the last one was realeased in 07. Anyway, the good fathe shows us that not only are church people sometimes cool, they play video games, they read great books (the greatest, in my opinion) and also can strive away from Christianity for a moment and talk about real, tangible things, like LOTR for instance. I think if the church was more modern like this, then more people would be interested. The reason why I am focusing on the fact that hes a churchman and not on the LOTR part is because thats what makes it so interesting, hearing a strong voiced and clear priest talk about LOTR is why I listen to this. Anyway, subsrcibe to this, its good
Quaint
The nice thing about this podcast is thr soundscapes grom the online games used. The reason I gave it 2 stars is that it has many areas to improve on.
Even though the presenter in his first episode stated it would not be a christian evangelical tour of middle earth, every episode I heard was gearing up for a Christian moral lesson.
For those interested in a systemic and sensitive reading and analysis of Tolkeins works, set in a classroom setting, try:- 'The Tolkein Proffessor' podcast on iTunes.
Good luck fellow wanderers.
