E12: Stepping Away From People-Pleasing How to Trust Your INtuition with Betsy LeFae

    • Spirituality

Dear Betsy,
My name is Hayley and I am 27 years old.  I’d like your help with the energy around my communication with my clients.  In my work, I help a range of individuals craft their personal narratives to help them achieve their goals.  And for the client, this can feel vulnerable and seem urgent.  We’re talking college and graduate school essays, resumes, job interview prep; it’s anxiety-inducing territory.
I truly want to satisfy my clients, but I don’t want to come across like a people-pleaser. How do I interact with them through email energetically in a way that makes me seem like a trust-worthy, proficient, confident expert...without the needy, unattractive, people-pleasing energy.  I want to convey a cool, confident energy around my clients, that also makes it clear that I’m working hard and that I’m truly invested in their satisfaction.  Or, better yet, that implies these ideas without having to do much “showing” of it at all.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
Thanks,
Hayley
Are you a people-pleaser?  Or maybe a recovering one?  If so, then this episode is for you! People-pleasing is often spurred on in childhood, and it’s all too easy for it to carry over into adulthood.  When we start to associate our worth with how much praise we are getting, this can turn into a vicious cycle with our self-esteem and co-dependence.  This in turn affects everything in our lives, from how we interact with family and friends, to how we show up in our careers and personal lives.  This is exactly what Betsy coaches Hayley on in this episode!  You don’t want to miss the way Betsy explains how to end this cycle for good!
