The topic of today's discussion is a quick overview of what personal storytelling means to us, as it's been a key part of my life the past few years. Eric and I met a few years ago when I was in the beginning stages of podcasting and simultaneously working through some painful moments.



It's been really rewarding that we've stayed in loose contact over the years, and serendipitous that we both happen to overlap in Taiwan this month. It's fun talking with someone who thinks deeply on similar issues (which maybe we'll touch on next time).



Eric is a terrific facilitator and storytelling enthusiast. I've been working on a few projects over the years (chief among them podcasting and writing, while dabbling in a few other things). Though these experiences, I've found that being in creativity cohorts is super helpful and inspiring -- there's magic when you're able to create a safe and vulnerable space to turn pain, stuckness, overwhelming emotions into works of art and healing.



Knowing the power of personal storytelling and carving out time for creativity, we are in early planning phases of putting together a cohort-based Creativity Retreat in Taiwan, and would love to know if any listeners are interested in joining us!

台中的三星尼泊爾手工藝品Three Stars Nepal in Taichung, Taiwan



After joining a community sound bath experience hosted by my Vipasanna roommate in Taichung, we went to the first shop in Taiwan to sell Himalayan singing bowls (頌缽) and other Nepali gifts and products. I was keen to get one, but it felt overwhelming to play and pick. A very Harry Potter for me. We were there for hours, playing bowls and listening to stories about how Mother Earth is always in communication with us. Maybe next time, the match will be obvious 😉I went back the next day to interview the owner, Surya, for the podcast. He had a number of wonderful stories about growing up in Nepal, being a mountain guide to Annapurna, and becoming an entrepreneur after immigrating to Taiwan over 25 years ago.Thank you, Surya, for letting us be in your space for so long!!老闆二十五年前從尼泊爾移民到台灣。很高興可去店裡學怎麼摩摸頌缽與聊人生的成長！“認識自己，了解自己，穩定自己。放掉壓力。今天就可以做。今天沒做到，明天可以做。不要很急。沒有什麼來不急的。”Conversation is mostly in Mandarin with some English.

在台灣嘉義內觀中心的感想



十一月底去嘉義參加十天的冥想。有很多想法。。。我以為會有很多外國來的人，但好像只有我！聽英文也難（有時候猜不出印度口音），聽中文也難（有很多我知道的字跟詞）。一天要坐十個小時（不是連續坐）非常難。在外面可以走走，但有時間限制也不能明顯的運動。到了第十天才能講話，滑手機，寫東西。還好吃得非常好（謝謝法工！）！到了第十天才能與室友聊天。我們有好多話！自我成長，心裡治療，等等。
