Tales of Asperran is an improvisational and collaborative storytelling podcast. What does that mean? Every other week we sit down at our desks and leave our everyday lives behind to pretend to be someone we are not. We record it all and release a one hour episode every other Friday. Together we will weave a beautiful story for you, second by second, page by page. The best part of it all is that we have no idea what will happen next.

Ballad of the Seven Dice ,

Set Sail for Magic and Mystery!

I started my travels in the Tales of Asperran with The Gilded Lily Tale and what I got was a complete delight. A group of ragtag wizards deciding that setting sail to the open seas was the next best step in their path of wizardry, whether it be from visions or fear. I really appreciated the DM taking a moment at the beginning of the campaign to cover the sensitive topics of the campaign and anything that people may wish to avoid. Starting off into the story, the DM does an amazing job with world building. Very quickly you are swept up into the word picture that gives you a great idea of this city from the creatures that inhabit the area, to the surrounding nature, to the very design of the place. As the stage has been set the players have no issue at all falling right into the roleplaying and changing the course of the story, and that's one of the things I find can really make a story shine. Not only does the DM allow the players to help shift, change, and shape the story but he encourages it as well. This is something that all DMs should do because when you collaborate at the table the story just gets better. The production quality of the show is quite good and the ambiance and music really help breathe life into the environment and I always love to hear this happen. I am very excited to continue my trip with these wizards and i highly suggest you do the same, this is a podcast that is definitely worth a listen!
