Episode #312 - The 2021 East and North Division Previews

The NHL season starts this week. THIS IS NOT A TEST! THE NHL SEASON STARTS THIS WEEK! Gary Bettman won't say exactly how much money the NHL will lose this year, but the answer starts with a B. A Bettman of Money? The NHL season already has been impacted with COVID-19, as the Dallas Stars are delayed. How will this impact other teams? Mathew Barzal has signed an extension with the New York Islanders. Mike Hoffman also officially signed with the St. Louis Blues. How long can we expect deals of this caliber to be the norm? The NHL is planning outdoor games in Lake Tahoe. But why? We also preview the all new East and North divisions. What can be expected from the all-Canadian division?  All this and more on episode 312 of the 4th Line Hockey Podcast! Episode #311 - The 2021 Central Division Preview

This week on The 4th Line Hockey Podcast, with the NHL almost back, it's time to preview the Central division! But first, an update to an octopus news story from early 2020. The NHL has modified the offside rule. Will it be for the better? Zdeno Chara has signed with the Washington Capitals, but who will fill his vacancy with the Boston Bruins? Pierre-Luc Dubois signed an extension with the Columbus Blue Jackets, but is apparently still not happy with the club. Will he find his way out? Jonathon Toews is out for the Chicago Blackhawks, leaving an unfortunate and unexpected hole at center. The AHL has put together a plan for this coming season. It's small, but will have a significant impact on the NHL teams they support. With Canada and the US destined to meet in the finals of the World Junior Hockey Championship, who have been the standout players thus far? We also preview the new Central Division, which somehow now houses both Stanley Cup finalists. All this and more on episode 311 of the 4th Line Hockey Podcast! Episode #310 - The WJHC Update and 2021 West Division Preview

Episode #310 - The WJHC Update and 2021 West Division Preview

The NHL season nears and we start the divisional previews this week. The Ottawa Senators are wheeling and dealing leading up to the start of the season. They started by picking up Derek Stepan from the Arizona Coyotes and followed that up by getting Braydon Coburn, Cedric Paquette and a 2nd round pick from the Tampa Bay Lightning for Marian Gaborik and Anders Nilsson. Who was the winner in each of these deals? With the round robin of the World Junior Hockey Championships we look in to see if teams are doing too much by running up the score and see what upsets have happened so far. Our division previews kick off on the West coast looking at questions like: - How drastically will the addition of the Minnesota Wild to this division change playoff outcomes? - Which team loaded up the most this offeason? - Where will each team finish in the standings? The NHL is returning! (Probably. Maybe.) A cheating scandal is hitting Swedish hockey, as details continue to come out. Is there any possible scenario where a team can justify intentionally losing a game? Details of the 2020-2021 season have come out, including a re-alignment of the divisions. Who are the favorites to win and finish last in each division? With the NHL no longer wanting more money from the players, what creative advertising approaches are favorable? 200 plus for a reason

Even though it became Leafs mania after tavares signed, it's still amazing. I still listen to it every chance I get. Even though Joel said Draisaitl is only worth 1 mil a year, I still listen to it. IT's that good.
