Deep Dive Conversations into Details of History
I found this podcast searching for real details about Cecil Rhodes, and stayed for the excellent discussions on history especially the Anglo-American Empire and beyond. The friendly humorous takes from these guys makes it fun to listen to while having a lot of blanks filled in and several dots connected. Kudos!! I don’t like the mansplaining how taking mothers like mine away from children was a good thing. Maybe do a Edward Bernays episode. Or an episode on how child abuse serves Malthusians.
The scrambling of western civ
I am drawn to this podcast particularly by the Scramble For Africa segments, and find them fascinating. Perspective is everything in history, and the hosts have upended the western colonial perspective of my youthful studies and with them the prejudices and injustices that were previously presented as triumphs and progress. It is well researched and produced and the knowledge of each host is evident without much trace of personal biases or hubris. Keep up the great work!
