Unmedicated Pitocin Induction Birth Story - Brittany Murlas

Unmedicated Pitocin Induction Birth Story - Brittany Murlas

Brittany and Mickey worked with a team of 2 midwives who delivered at their local hospital. COVID threw a wrench in their plans and she ended up needing an induction. When the first two induction methods didn’t work, Brittany was started on Pitocin. Thanks to their doula (who the hospital made a one-time-COVID exception for), they were able to make it through 19 hours of labor without an epidural.

My favorite podcast

When I’m packing lunches, doing dishes and folding laundry this is my go to! Love all the great info and resources!!

Uneducated

This podcast claims to support women but fails to provide stories of women who are informed of their rights. Also promotes unsafe medical procedures that have harmed babies and mothers. Very few of the stories I’ve heard would I consider “empowering” if they were my experience. They promote OBs and midwives as primary decision makers in birth over the mother’s wants and needs. They embrace women’s oppression as positive. Not a good source for women who are wanting to educate themselves on the truths of childbirth.
