Adversity supposedly brings out our true colors: it show us who we are when things aren't going perfectly. But so often in times of pressure or stress, it feels easy to default into survival-thinking and to lose sight of the future (and who we want to be). If you feel like you haven't been showing up at your best and want to create an authentic vision of yourself as a leader, you're going to love this.
Career Clarity certified coach Kate Solis Silva (who's also quoted in Career Clarity the book!) comes on The Career Clarity Show podcast today to talk about your identity as a leader, how to explore it, and how to intentionally create it, even in times that are as unpredictable as these.
It's a juicy conversation (and one I didn't realize I needed so much) about who we think we are, who our peers see us as, and who we truly want to become.

Equipping Yourself to Best Manage Stress with Carlee Myers
For full show notes, go to GetCareerClarity.com/Episode63.
It's *no* understatement to say that people have been feeling far more stress than they were expecting this year. Especially between work unpredictability and changing your life to suit a pandemic, the last few months have been rough.
It's becoming clear that this lack of "normal" is actually the new "normal," at least for a while. And that means we need to equip ourselves with the tools to manage the stress (and distress) that's become a hallmark of this unexpected year.
That's why I'm SO glad to be able to share this episode of The Career Clarity Show podcast with you. We invited stress reduction and management expert Carlee Myers to share about her innovative process to make life more do-able, no matter your circumstances.
Carlee's mission to master stress reduction for herself and share it with others comes from a shocking (and scary) beginning, and is an incredible story to hear. In our interview, Carlee shares about creative stress reduction: what it means, what it could look like for you, and why you need it now more than ever. (I've been pondering creative stress reduction in my own life ever since our conversation, and am excited to figure out how to better implement it in my own life!) The podcast gives you working definitions of stress and suffering you can use to navigate the ups and downs of your life with more ease and elegance.

For full show notes, go to GetCareerClarity.com/Episode62.
If you've ever worked in a job where you didn't quite feel like you fit, today's episode of the podcast is for you. Many people struggle in jobs that look great on paper but don't feel great in person, and wonder why things don't feel natural or satisfying. Performance strategist Laura Garnett has a theory, and she's written about it in her two books: it's that you might be operating outside your personal Zone of Genius.
If you're curious to understand how you can identify and track your zone of genius, tune into this episode. We talk about how Laura's "dream job" at Google ended up being out of alignment with her genius zone, how to properly value your gifting, and how to bring more of yourself to the workplace — and, what to do if your workplace doesn't fully love you back. It's a juicy episode about how you can use your gifts to lead, and I hope you'll take as much out of it as I did.

Ass-Kicking With Limitations, with Lisa Lewis Miller
For full show notes, go to GetCareerClarity.com/Episode60.
When working with capable, high achieving folks on making a bold career transition, there's a common stalling out point that pops up. It's the tension between ambition — the desire to keep pushing, hustling, and growing — and rest. So many of us get to the top of our industry, organization, or game by constantly achieving... but it also leads to burnout, exhaustion, adrenal fatigue, and resentment. The thing we love (and get energy from) can also become the cause of our plateaus or roadblocks.
It can then feel like a chicken-or-the-egg trap: I don't have time for rest because I can't rest if I'm going to achieve my goals; but if I don't rest, I'm going to burnout or become less productive and slow down. When we help people create careers they love here at Career Clarity, we want it to be on their own terms in order to be sustainable and healthy. And those terms almost always need to include more time for rest and active recovery.
On this episode of the podcast, I talk about the different kinds of limitations or boundaries on your life, setting specific goals, and defining how to sustainably "thrive" instead of just survive. You can still keep kicking ass and achieving if you do it in a more strategic, creative, and boundaried way.
