NEAT stands for Non Exercise Activity Thermogenesis. It's the caloric burn that comes from movement beyond your workouts. Everyday life activities like walking your kids to school, pacing while on the phone, and walking up stairs.
I'm interested in NEAT because I want to incorporate more movement into my life now that I'm no longer teaching 7+ fitness classes a week! My lifestyle has changed and it is more sedentary than ever before. But it is actually a lot more normal - most of us have desk jobs!
