The Carla Rand Show speaks to everyday people who are making a positive impact in this world. People with pain and struggles who have risen above and overcome obstacles, which are often unseen. These are the real heroes. The podcast is hosted by Carla Rand, who is a fitness entrepreneur and dutiful mother of six children. Her goal is to share insights and powerful stories from "ordinary" people, showcasing and inspiring us all towards the truly extraordinary.
Brett + Amy Monea - 'Why Therapy is Worth It'
A bullfighter and a counsellor make a heck of a combination, and Brett and Amy Monea are exactly that. Though Brett has experience in the rougher side of life in high intensity sport, Amy has spent a lot of time understanding psychology as a therapist, and together they connect two different worlds in a beautiful way. We talk about many things but the big theme that came out of our conversation is the need for more people to understand what therapy is, why it's important, and how it can improve your life.
Sharon Neufeld - 'How Marriage is Reflected in the Trinity'
Sharon Neufeld is a counsellor, a truth-sayer and intelligent human being that I have the utmost respect for. Her story is fascinating; from having her home burn down to following a bizarrely non-traditional educational path, it's just a delight to listen to the twists and turns of her life. This is the perfect episode for you if you're a married person and wanting to strengthen your relationship. Sharon's practical application of Christian principles are universal to believers and non-believers alike.
Jason Meland - 'Transform Your Life Through Perseverance'
Jason Meland is a fitness coach from Florida. His story of continually persevering through obstacles is one truly worth listening to. Whether being bullied relentlessly as a kid, repeatedly being turned down for a dream spot on 'American Ninja Warrior,' and even surviving a severe electrocution accident while on the job as a firefighter, no obstacle has been tough enough to hold him back. I ask him about what's kept him pushing forward, and what has led to his present success.
Vince Del Monte - 'How Marriage Counselling Changed Everything'
Vince Del Monte is a family man, fitness leader, and incredibly successful business entrepreneur. In fact, he was recently named by Yahoo as the #1 Fitness Business Coach there is. But all his success and business acumen aside, Vince is an ordinary man who is trying to balance his work with his life, and today we talk frankly about his experience in marriage: what has challenged it, and what has he done to make it stronger.
Greg Garwood - 'Beating Anxiety and Levelling Up'
Greg Garwood is a professional firefighter and fitness leader from Colorado, but many people would be surprised to learn that he has long suffered from some extreme anxiety in his life, even having had a full blown nervous breakdown at one point. But despite his struggles, his story is one of perseverance and continually leveling up his life, facing fears and getting uncomfortable in order to grow. I know you're going to find this valuable and instructive.
Brian Dixon - 'Start With Your People'
Brian Dixon has been a huge mentor in my life and his story is a powerful one. He got into a very serious vehicle collision when he was young that shattered his pelvis and caused enough damage to make every doctor tell him that he would never walk again---all but one orthopedic surgeon who took a chance. That doctor, his faith in God, and his good heart for people became the driver in what he feels is his second chance at life. He's since ran 11 marathons, been a successful entrepreneur, and so much more!
