there is often an inconsistency in the duration of the uploads, and the content of them typically feels randomly chosen and poorly planned out. dean seldom talks about current events and instead about himself, his memories, or friends. this is not intrinsically bad, however the way that dean presents it often feels like you’re listening in on a therapy session than a comedy podcast. dean also seems to have an aversion to any form of criticism, and every episode it feels as though he complains about people giving him crap, mainly for the unfortunate events that happened between himself and a dating show contestant. dean’s presentation of serious topics he wants to discuss are often subpar as he is never really talking about the people he’s mentioned, instead about himself receiving judgment he believes is undue.

dean often tries to piggyback off of his friend, kurtis conner’s style of woke comedy, but instead when he acts PC he comes across as unnatural, an example being his segment where he discusses the notion that women have more empathy than men while using an example of his friends’ girlfriends ruining “4 duh boiys” banter. he ends up coming across as mildly sexist and stereotyping even though he insists that he’s trying to convey that women are better than men are.

he plays music in his podcast and scream-sings lyrics. this is a type of loud = funny comedy, and it feels as though it is missing the mark nearly every time. if people wanted to listen to the extremely popular music he plays they would be on spotify and not on his podcast.

in summary, if you want to spent one hour or less with a basic canadian white boy, who is otherwise nice, but with a unfortunate victim complex, then dean’s podcast is perfect for you.
