Political talk on the issues of the day with Jared and Ralph. These podcasts are replays of our LIVE show, Mondays and Thursdays, 10:00PM-Midnight Eastern U.S. Time., on Indie Airplay Radio... www.indieairplay.com
03/01/07: The Surge... Is It Still On?
The Democrats have been talking about making sure the troops that Bush wants to "surge" with are properly rested, equipped, and trained. However, the bill codifying this expects to meet resistance along the way. They know they can't override a veto, so they added a provision that only the President can send troops without the rest, gear, and skills, laying failure directly at the feet of the Boy who Would Be King. They hope that Bush will not veto it, since he still gets his surge. They then added a "timetable" clause, cutting troops off after six months. This may doom the bill to failure, but it still keeps Democrats from "owning" a war that is becoming a disaster. In addition, Joe LIEberman asks us to trust the Bush cabal's supposed "intelligence" on Iran, just because. Does he have Israel's best interests at heart? Jared and Ralph reveal the truth behind it all. Also, check out JasJones' song, "Corporate Neckties," included at the end of the podcast!
02/19/07: The Walter Reed Saga, Part 1 of 3
This is the first episode in which we discussed the horrors of what is happening to our wounded veterans of the occupation of Iraq at Walter Reed Hospital. This episode, and Part 2 (available tomorrow), are based off of the two-part series of articles published in the Washington Post. Listen to Jared and Ralph reveal the truth about how our wounded soldiers are being treated.
02/26/07: Taxpayers Fund al-Qaeda!
Seymour Hersh of New Yorker magazine released a scathing article recently about the Bush cabal's instigation of a regional civil war between the Sunni and Shia. In it, he reveals how OUR taxpayers' money (likely the money that has gone "missing" from the no-bid contracts) has been funneled, Iran-Contra style, to militant Sunni groups with direct ties to al-Qaeda. It's so shameless that it prompted the self-demotion of John Negroponte, one of the major players in Iran-Contra in the 1980's. We didn't invade Iraq to stop terrorism; we invaded Iraq in order to sow the seeds of conflict in the region. Why are we doing this? Read Sy Hersh's article, then listen to Jared and Ralph deduce exactly what the Bush game plan is.
02/22/07: Militarizing the Middle East
The defense contractors decided to hold this year's "get your weapons here!" convention in the United Arab Emirates for a reason. The coming war with Iran, and the Bush cabal's attempt to instigate a civil war between the Sunni and Shia across the region, has every country in the Middle East looking to upgrade their country's offensive and defensive capabilities. The defense industry has never met a form of currency it didn't like, whether it belongs to a friend or an enemy. These companies may be supplying the weapons that will be used to kill Americans! Jared and Ralph call attention to the impending danger.
02/26/07: Iran, Iran's Not Far Away
The AEI has spoken, and the Bush administration is all ears. It seems that military action will be the plan for dealing with Iran. Sure, we will hear a lot about diplomacy; we heard all about that leading up to the Iraq war, although that was never really followed through on. We're going to threaten and goad Iran into "throwing the first punch," which is a recipe for disaster, as it will rally the Iranians around those same leaders the Bush cabal wants the Iranians to stop supporting. That works, only in Bushworld. In addition, the IAEA has found our Iran intelligence as solid as our Iraq intelligence was - meaning, not solid at all. This is Iraq all over again. Jared and Ralph expose the truth about our plans for Iran.
02/26/07: Walter Cronkite vs. the Media
At the ELPN, you often hear us complain about the complicit mainstream media. Walter Cronkite, venerable newsman, gave a keynote address at Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism last week that was very critical of the role the MSM plays in society. John Gibson (of FOX News) feels that journalists doing what they are meant to do (like Anderson Cooper) are nothing more than better-than-thou snobs because they don't cover stories like the Anna Nicole Smith estate battle. In the meantime, we scoop up a story the MSM completely missed - a provision to the Military Commissions Act allows Bush to use the military as local law enforcement (read: martial law!) as he sees fit. Jared and Ralph skewer the lame-stream media!!!
