Join Michelle and Lindsay as they chat weekly on all manner of things that pertain to and may interest the Modern Lady. From books to food to current lifestyle trends and issues, they will explore what it means to be a true lady in today's world!
The "Can't Even" Clean Up
One of our listeners said it best when she described the general mood of the past month as the "February Funk-Hole"! It seems to strike every winter, this mid-winter slump... but, as Michelle and Lindsay discuss this week, there are ways to both lean in to what we're feeling while still maintaining a reasonable tidiness at home! This week, the ladies discuss why figuring out a manageable balance for your homemaking will ultimately lift your spirits and share some tips on how to get started!
Make 'Em Laugh!
Having a light-hearted disposition and a sense of humour can significantly impact your day to day life... for the better! This week, Michelle and Lindsay discuss the benefits of an intentional life lived lightly and how to cultivate such a perspective right away!
The Necessity of Momento Mori
"Momento Mori" is a Latin saying which translates to, "Remember Your Death". To our secular and modern minds, this is a jarring and uncomfortable clarion call to be sure, but it is one that we neglect at our own peril. This week, Michelle and Lindsay discuss how people have historically practiced "Momento Mori", how it ties into Lent and Ash Wednesday, and why it's necessary for us to remind ourselves often of the inevitability of our deaths.
Loving the Skin You're In
The French have a saying: "Être Bien Dans Sa Peau!", which means "to feel comfortable in one's own skin". This is a topic that sparked a variety of conversations about how we truly see ourselves. This week, Michelle and Lindsay chat about some of these aspects: from monitoring your inner critic to embracing the aging process, to how millennial girls may be onto something and how ultimately your dignity and worth go far beyond the trends "du jour".
Musings on Everyday Little Luxuries
"Every day is a special occasion!" After all, you woke up this morning, didn't you? This week, Michelle and Lindsay muse about and counter common protests against a practice that may seem difficult as mid-winter looms before us: that is, finding joy and anticipation in our own homes through the little luxuries we find all around us!
Nixing The Blame Game
Pointing fingers and casting blame seems to be commonplace in our culture today - especially online. But playing the blame game does more than just make us downcast and inefficient. This week, Michelle and Lindsay chat about where blame is appropriate, why eventually we need to decide to do something about the challenges we face and where personal responsibility fits in to all of this!

Sick but feeling Wonderful.
Whenever I am sick the house feels like a bad camping trip. There are clothes everywhere, the food is from cans, and no one really has a good time. I had a friend that recommended this podcast to me a while ago and I started to play it when I was climbing mount laundry. I am so so glad I did. For the last year it has been a life goal for me to start loving domesticity, especially since i am now homeschooling, and this podcast brought some dry thoughts and in-the-dark efforts to real life. I am feeling so great even tho I am so sick, and the house is a joy to be in. Its so wonderful to hear the encouragement and wisdom that you ladies give in every podcast. God Bless!
House Work is So Much Better Now
Thank you Michelle and Lindsay!
I picked this podcast back up again recently since I’m in the home more since lockdown. It’s one of the things I look forward to as I get the household chores done.
Not only is the Modern Lady Podcast entertaining and informative, it really is an inspiration to go and bring beauty and goodness into our homes. I recommend this to any woman who sees the tremendous value in her family and her home.
Michelle and Lindsay put so much prayer, thought, time, and research into their podcast because each episode is so relevant and inspired. I say inspired because every time I listen I am convicted by the Holy Spirit through their message! Whether it’s reevaluating what I’m consuming for entertainment, curbing gossip or tips for running my house, they hit the nail on the head every time and I truly believe I’m becoming a better version of myself through their influence. Thanks ladies! This is more than just a podcast, to me it’s a ministry! Thanks for taking the time to produce a quality product that is changing lives!
