The Next Big RTS You Havn't Heard About - Ep89 - Ignacio Trelles Bored With Nelly

    • Careers

Igancio is a video game developer based in Uruguay that loves the style of 90s RTS games. So much so that he’s started making his own. Dying Breed is a single player RTS game inspired by classics like Red alert and will be published by the iconic Microprose. The publisher of games like Sid Meier's Civilization, Worms Armageddon, and Rollercoaster Tycoon, just to name a few. To me, his story of how he started making the game and his struggle to find a publisher is just as interesting as the game he’s trying to create. If I had an infinite budget, I’d hire a crew to follow him around for a year and make a documentary on what it’s like making an indie game in Uruguay in 2024. But I don't, so this podcast will do. We talked about why he loves this genre so much, what does a modern day indie developer look like, is he using AI, how hard was it to find a publisher and lots more!
