Grief. Lots of it going around during these pandemic times. How to deal with it? How to relate? How to prepare for the unpreparable? How to support? How to get past? Or get through? When someone dearly loved, dearly close is no more. This is what Deanna Joyce, our guest for this two-part series on Grief shares. Through the lens of her own grievous experience with losing someone whom she dearly loved – her mother.
Over|Thinking Episode 5 - Torn
Social Anxiety. Am I worthy? Why do people reject me? I must not be a good person. But am I bad? Myriad masks. Are they working? Compulsively negative thought patterns. Trying to solve problems that we are creating for ourselves in our minds. Which lead to more problems. TORN!
Recovery College Wellness Centre Summer Co-op student Martin Luciani-Noli takes us deep into his mind and his struggle with social anxiety. And how he has learnt to cope more effectively.
Over|Thinking Episode 4- Crawling
Anxiety. Crawling in our skin. Consuming. Confusing. Debilitating. So much a part of many of us that we think it is normal even as it as it drags us down. If you’ve experienced anxiety you will be able to relate to our Over|Thinking guest for this episode – Christian-Ann Silveri. A student of Recovery College at CMHA Durham, Christian-Ann bravely, vulnerably shares her lifelong struggle with anxiety and how she is beginning to successfully manage this very common, challenging condition.

Looking forward to RCWC’s podcast!!
Thank you, Recovery College Wellness Centre. Thank you to the Peer Support specialists, Pam, Percy, Marie. You supported me at my pace. You challenged me when you could see I needed it and I could do it. I did the work but each of you helped me see that I desired more for my life. How can I possibly thank my mentors? I’ll keep moving forward.
Every time I have went through the doors of CMHA, whether I had an appointment with my NP, on my way up to the RCWC or the main office, I felt welcomed. I felt cared for. I felt understood. I felt included. For the first time in my life.
I have made life long friends with a couple other clients of CMHA. Friends that really get me. We support each other when we can. I am very grateful for both of my friends.
I look forward to listening to Every podcast. It will be a nice reminder of the people I got to meet and the place where I able to start my life again.
Jamie, brother, you did a wonderful job. Great show.
It’s great to hear people’s actual experience shared in such an involving and compelling format. I can’t wait to hear more!
