    Shinigami

    Shinigami

Shinigami is hard to label - “alternative rapper” is probably the easiest term to use, but whatever label you want to use, he’s quickly become one of my favorite newer artists. He’s built a following of over 1 million Spotify listeners in just a few years with nothing more than a super simple home studio and his creativity, and I find his approach incredibly inspiring as an example of how every creator should think and act. He joins the podcast to talk about his DIY path to success, still feeling self-doubt, how he approaches his music and social media content, and so much more.

The legendary Furnace Fest is BACK to celebrate its 20th anniversary, and Chad Johnson and Johnny Grimes are here to talk about how they're making it happen (along with some very accomplished people like Mike Ziemer). They break down how they get bands like August Burns Red, Converge, Shai Hulud and Knocked Loose on board, how to draw fans in, the logistics of putting such a big event together, and much more. If you've ever wondered what it takes to produce a festival, this one is for you!

    Eyal Levi (URM Academy, Daath)

    Eyal Levi (URM Academy, Daath)

Eyal Levi is the CEO of URM Academy, an online school for rock and metal producers that gives students direct access to the raw tracks for bands like A Day To Remember, Bring Me The Horizon, Meshuggah, Periphery, and dozens more. Prior to that, he was a producer who worked with bands like Chelsea Grin, The Contortionist and The Black Dahlia Murder and the founder of Daath, who put out a handful of albums on Roadrunner and Century Media.

We brought him on to discuss a very important and poorly understood topic: how to get important people to say yes to working with you!
