Why does Breastfeeding Matter for Airway & Breathing? Episode 332

Breastfeeding success or challenges can be symptomatic of underlying problems with structure and function of airway.

In this episode, Lisa shares her unique perspective as a midwife, lactation consultant and airway advocate discussing concepts such as:

    * The controversy of suggesting that breastfeeding is a biological imperative

    * Why most families don't reach their breastfeeding goals

    * The formula monopoly and control of education of health care workers (yes, I'm going there)

    * Paradigm shift: Benefits of breastfeeding vs risk of formula feeding

    * Connecting dots between infant SIDS and adult sleep disordered breathing.

    * Research studies vs clinical experience

    * Bottles, pacifiers and connection to airway disorders
