023 Are You Only What You Do?

023 Are You Only What You Do?

Picture the scene. You've turned up at a party, but you don't know many people there. As you move around the room you are introduced to other attendees, and you are ready to charm them with small interesting tidbits of information you've curated about yourself. But instead you are introduced like this: " This is [NAME]. She is a [INSERT CAREER HERE]".
    Sigh.
Join Lea & Sam where we’ll be talking about whether our careers define us and how we like to describe ourselves to others. We talk about our own insecurities about how we define what is important in our lives, and whether the jobs we do really are the only interesting things about us. This week we are also joined by Lucy Sheref from Wanderluce who shares her own unique perspective as a blogger, freelance journalist and well, human being. Tune in and don’t forget to tell us about what you do!

Honey, that isn't how it works, and deep down you know it too.
Join Lea & Sam where we’ll be talking about how to relax into your evening. We talk putting the phones down, bubble baths, sorting your life admin and getting a freaking early night. 021 How To Have A Brilliant Morning

021 How To Have A Brilliant Morning

So last week we chatted all about ways to relax offline, and to continue the theme of awesome things to do that won't have you glued to your phone, we are covering off the brilliant morning. Can you honestly say that you wake up and have one every day? Us neither. If we haven't dropped cereal down ourselves/had our mascara run, forgotten our keys OR fallen asleep on the commute and missed our stop, it hasn't been a morning we recognise.
Join Lea & Sam where we’ll be talking about how we tray (and often fail) to set ourselves up for a brilliant morning. We talk about why mornings are hard, the pressure of the internet in making us believe we have to pack in all the things and share simple feel good tips for getting the day off to a good start. We're not perfect, but we are trying! Tune in and don’t forget to tell us how you do mornings!

    020 How To Relax Offline

    020 How To Relax Offline

If you ever get to the end of a long day and feel frazzled, tired and with a slight headache, you are not alone. Most of us spend huge proportions of our day online for work, whether that is hunched over a keyboard or tap tap tapping things into our phones and tablets. When we get home we switch the TV on and in a zombie-like state wonder why we never quite feel like we are relaxing. We've got a suggestion for that. And it involves unplugging from the matrix and being (shock horror!) offline.
Join Lea & Sam where we’ll be talking about how we get off of our screens and why it is important to spend time relaxing offline. We'll be sharing some of our favourite ways to switch off and relax, including bubble baths, reading, walking and colouring in (it really does work), and thinking about how we can better extricate ourselves from our ever-connected world.  Tune in and don’t forget to tell us how you relax offline!

    019 Are Trends Important?

    019 Are Trends Important?

Do you pay attention to trends? Leading on from last week's episode on personal style, we take it one step further and discuss whether paying attention to trends is worthwhile or a waste of time. Whether its fashion cycling through the decades, music trends swinging between indie guitar bands, divas and boy bands and our more recent obsessions with proper coffee and artisan gin we can't deny that trends play a huge part in all our lives. But does following trends lead to happiness or heartache?
Join Lea & Sam where we’ll be sharing our favourite (or most memorable trends that we bought into when growing up, and trends that we really don't like now. We'll decide whether we are trend hunters or trend doubters, and we'll dredge up a whole heap of memories about growing up in the most commercialised decades of this century.  Tune in and don’t forget to tell us what you think!
