    Hurricane Ian really took a toll on SW Florida!  It has been a trying time after a trying couple of years (aka COVID ughhh) and during an already rough economic season.  (high groceries, anyone!?  wahhhh!!!)
    So when we got the chance to come together to raise money for a local safety net Children's Hospital, Golisano, that was hit really hard during Hurricane Ian, we thought we would give it a try.  AND IT WORKED!!! We raised over $35,000!!  130 of the employees at this hospital lost their home, car, or both in the floods of Hurricane Ian.  Healing Hands, the non profit through doTERRA International matched $15,000!!  
    I am just beyond grateful!!!  And we focus on the giving people, the fact that we are "better together", that we have so much even on our hardest days.... it changes EVERYTHING!!
    I pray you all have an amazing Thanksgiving!!!  I am grateful for you!

    Sept 28, 2022 is a day I will never forget!  I had no idea that Hurricane Ian would not only affect the entire coast of Florida where I have lived for 25 years, but would also hit each member of my family in ways I never could have imagined.
    Are you prepared for emergencies to come up?  
    Maybe chaotic schedules this fall felt like an emergency.
    Maybe a diagnosis or sudden illness?
     Maybe a past trauma gets reactivated in your brain when something happens and catches you "off guard".
    My tips for being prepared for an emergency... big or small.... are
    1. Know who has the final say.
    2. Prepare your family in advance... my biggest recommendation is to go camping!  Nothing prepares you for survival like camping! lol
    3. Be a duck.
    4. Know your fundamental needs/values in advance.  Ponder and let them permeate your heart on GOOD DAYS so on BAD days they are your foundation.
    5.  Pray... without ceasing.... before, during, after.... The Lord's Prayer is a great one..  Jesus taught us to pray it for a reason:)

    Episodes 107 and 108 were all about finding the "Chaos Creators" in your home and health. 
    BUT THERE IS HOPE!
    Today, I go over how I CALM THE CHAOS!!
    Your anxiety and overwhelm can be prevented and healed with these 5 steps!
    1.  Sit with your mind.  I have a step I take that helps me with this.  You mindset can be healed when you know what matters.  Your priorities, roles and responsibilities need to be clear.
    2. Say "No" - but don't say no to everything. Setting boundaries doesn't mean saying no to everything.  Self coaching yourself is key.  If you need help knowing what matters, schedule a call with me.  I have a short one hour program to help with this.
    3.  Say "When"! Schedule the "when" when you can! This one breaks every mother's heart.  We can't keep ignoring our loved ones.
    4. "Sit on the hill".  The 10000 foot perspective tells us everything!
    5. Normalize normal.  We aren't doing anyone any favors by faking it that we are ok and we don't have chaos too!
