A deeply profound and thoughtful podcast. This is mind opening and enjoyable.
Disingenuous
Nov 4
It seems to me that if you don’t understand that those condemning JK Rowlings books bc they are a gateway to witchcraft and those supporting her views on trans rights are the same ppl you have a fundamental blind spot. Framing this as free speech as a free spot on the bingo card of life is also disingenuous. She can speak and she in doing so accepts judgement. Initially she was judged by other bigots. Now she has made herself one of them. This podcast producer needs some maturing and some re evaluation of whether she really had left the Fred Phelps warped mindset. She is a bigot and seeks here to apologize for JKR. jKR needs to spend some of her millions on therapy. It’s clear she has a deep seated fear/hate/spite for men. It’s unfortunate this has morphed into hate for trans women, the only men that this filthy rich woman has decided she can punch down on. Pity. Listen to JKRs comment in episode 3 about bullying, othering, exclusion, acceptance and then think about her comments on trans women. She clearly has zero insight into her own behaviour and empathy. Shame on her

I have searched for years to find this kind of sensitive, thoughtful, thorough and inquisitive investigation of the forces shaping our online interactions. This podcast is simply the best I have ever listened to. It has significantly increased my optimism about the future.

Very thorough and truly kept me hooked. Loved the varied interviews and really interesting to hear so intricately from Rowling. Also lovely to see and hear from Megan after watching the Louis Theroux documentaries all those years ago - good on you.
