The World Next Week

The World Next Week brings a journalist’s perspective to the critical and intriguing stories developing around the globe—from Kyiv, to Pyongyang, to Capitol Hill, to Cannes. TWNW’s hosts have years of experience covering international and Washington news. Before joining CFR, Robert McMahon, managing editor of digital content, reported for the Associated Press and Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty. Carla Anne Robbins, a senior fellow and director of the MIA Program at Baruch College’s Marxe School, was deputy editorial page editor at the New York Times and chief diplomatic correspondent at the Wall Street Journal.
Great and very Insightful podcast

This is a podcast I really enjoy listening to but I am disappointed that the devastating double explosion of Beirut which occurred on August 4th and is the #3 after Hiroshima and Nagasaki was not even addressed. What happened is not just another bomb in the Middle East, what happened will never be forgotten and scarred all of the Lebanese people from all over the world .The corrupt thiefs of politicians who’ve been in power for over 3 decades led the country to where it is and they need to be exposed. #talkaboutlebanon I would have given it a 5 star rating otherwise. I hope you will take into consideration my comment and address it.
Foreign affairs coverage as it should be

Informative, nuanced and really satisfying programming. It’s everything the mainstream press is missing. Great work and thanks CFR.
Lately Less Informed
2023-07-20
This is still a reasonably good snapshot of geo-politics however the new cohost seems at times to address issues she is uninformed about without any humility. She was dismayed to learn an American TV show is being filmed in Canada despite this being a common practice for many years. She also detailed the countries which are large grain producers that could offset the Black Sea grain blockade with no mention of Canada. Maybe she’s just uninformed about Canada, but the show claims itself to have knowledge on all countries and global events. Thank you.
New host wears her politics on her sleeve
2023-07-19
For many years I have told colleagues how objective and non-partisan the hosts of TWNW have been. This, unfortunately, changed notably when a new host replaced Jim Lindsay. The new host wears her politics on her sleeve. It is now a frustrating experience to listen to TWNW. I hang on, though, because I’ve been committed to and appreciative of this show for so long.
