What happens when a double homicide case lands in your lap? What if it is the oldest active cold case in the history of American true crime? What if your father held a family secret for fifty years before he confided in you that one of the victims was your great-great uncle and that your grandfather had been held as a suspect? What if the murders happened during the most corrupt era our nation has ever known? And what if you are a retired detective, like me, with the unique skill set needed to figure out an 87-year-old family mystery? Well, you put everything else on hold and set out to solve it. This is my story.

My Keisha ,

Karen’s Shattered souls is unbelievable

So refreshing to hear from the perspective of a crime scene analyst. Though graphic and not for the faint of heart, she is an excellent story teller, with great cadence, tempo and tone. So easy to listen to. Karen - I’m betting it is a treat to hear you up on the stand. I see a tonne of binging in my future.

Update: done binging. WOW. I’m sad there have not been any more since 2022. Love hearing the different weekly episodes from Karen. Hopefully you’re just taking a much deserved break?

Shattered Souls :')

Sooooo good. Super informative and respectful. The only bad thing about this podcast is the intro music, which is so insufferable that it makes me want to put my head through some drywall. BUT, thats just me. Everything else is great.
