    Professor Philip Motta describes the research of his lab including studies on the biomechanics of billfish feeding, goliath grouper studies, and the feeding studies on sharks and rays. The latter research encompasses work on the sensory biology of sharks and their prey capture, the function and design of their teeth and jaws, shark attacks on U.S. Navy submarine towed arrays, mako shark swimming, whale shark feeding and the pesky problem of remora (shark suckers) interfering with unmanned underwater vehicles.

    Researchers now live in the last era where they can interact with witnesses of the Holocaust and document their lives and memories in as many ways as imaginable. Carolyn Ellis, Ph.D., and her students have been working with the Florida Holocaust Museum in St. Petersburg and the Holocaust and Genocide Studies Center at USF Libraries to interview survivors in the Tampa Bay area and make their testimonies available to the public. Ellis shares insights from her research in this presentation.
