Wrongly Convicted – The Thin Blue Line

Wrongly Convicted – The Thin Blue Line

On this weeks’ episode of the Truth Nation Podcast, retired California Highway Patrol Chief Mark Garrett and retired DEA Special Agent in Charge Bill Bodner discuss the 1988 documentary film, “The Thin Blue Line,” which chronicles the wrongful conviction of Randal Dale Adams, for the 1976 murder of Dallas Police Officer Robert Wood. How was a man convicted of capital murder with no physical evidence linking him to the crime and eyewitnesses of dubious character? Was the real murderer ignored simply because he was a teenager and was not eligible for the death penalty if convicted? Did the real murderer admit to fabricating a story and implicating Adams in a crime simply because Adams wouldn’t allow him to spend the night in his hotel room? A fascinating story about the importance of integrity in our criminal justice system and what happens when it goes missing.

If It’s Boeing, I Ain’t Going: Trajectory to Tragedy

If It’s Boeing, I Ain’t Going: Trajectory to Tragedy

On Episode 21 of the Truth Nation Podcast, retired California Highway Patrol Chief Mark Garrett and retired DEA Special Agent in Charge Bill Bodner discuss how corporate deception and a broken regulatory process led to two airline crashes and a multitude of quality control issues. To remain competitive with commercial airline builder Airbus, Boeing instituted extreme cost cutting measures, implemented misguided efforts to reduce or eliminate the need for training on their updated equipment, and displayed poor internal communication and information sharing. The FAA delegated to Boeing the responsibility to certify many crucial safety items. All these factors contributed to their recent dubious safety record. Mark and Bill also discuss the suspicious deaths of two whistleblowers and a third career employee turned whistleblower, who recently testified before congress. Simpson. How was Simpson acquitted in the face of overwhelming forensic evidence? Was it a poorly conceived prosecution strategy? Criminologist testimony that conflicted with video evidence? A loss of credibility when a key LAPD witness invoked his 5th amendment protections? Or was it simply a jury unwilling to convict in the wake of the Rodney King beating? These questions and many more answered as the hosts break down the crime, the evidence and the longest criminal trial in the history of the California justice system.

China Declared War. We Didn’t Get the Memo!

Last week in the US Congress, the bipartisan Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party released a report titled, “The CCPs Role in the Fentanyl Crisis.”
On episode 19 of the Truth Nation Podcast, retired California Highway Patrol Chief Mark Garrett and Retired DEA Special Agent in Charge Bill Bodner break down the report.
Are you wondering why fentanyl production and corresponding harm began to skyrocket in 2016?
Does the Chinese government really incentivize the production of fentanyl, fentanyl precursors and fentanyl analogues for export even though they are illegal in China and most have no legitimate use throughout the world?
Do they offer tax breaks and grants to companies selling deadly chemicals, as long as those chemicals are only sold outside of China?
Are some of the Chinese companies distributing fentanyl precursor chemicals state owned?
What recommendations did the committee make to address this crisis and will these steps make a difference? All these questions are answered on this week’s episode. Also available on all podcast platforms.
