As a leader, I know my job is not to be liked. My job is to help bring about important decisions and milestones that the missions and organizations work for.
But I also have an innate desire to be a colleague and a friend that is NICE.
In the past, the word, “Nice”, has really hamstringed me from saying what I mean, for fear of hurting someone’s feelings.
I guess I am am hardwired to please.
But I have learned that i also have to please a very important person in my life: ME! And that I must check in with myself to make sure I am making myself happy too.
So what do you do when you’re Stuck in Pleaser Mode? How do you be your own cheerleader and step into your personal power?
