Trailer
A three-part series from This American Life producer Nancy Updike. When Rachel McKibbens’s father and brother died suddenly last fall, two weeks apart, from Covid, she’d had no idea her father was sick, and no idea her brother was dying. They were unvaccinated, but the story of what happened started long before that. All three episodes of "We Were Three," a new show from Serial Productions and The New York Times, are available wherever you get your podcasts on Thursday, October 13th, 2022.

Moving
An important story to share, a moving story, beautifully developed
Tried to get through it a little boring
Only listened to the first episode, this podcast wasn’t able to hold my interest at all. I also found it seemed biased. I would think that credible journalism would really investigate both sides and dig in a bit.
Excellent journalism, beautiful poetry
Deeply grateful for all of the meticulous research and true work and also the vulnerability, pain, and presence it took to make this excellent podcast on the part of all involved. Listening was a heavy but therapeutic experience, one that deepened empathy and understanding with regards to my own life and family, the suffering I’ve intimately experienced over the past 3 years, as well as the depths of despair I’ve observed in the greater world around me. Great pains went into being generous and magnanimous to all parties, which I recognize is truly no small feat. Thank you, thank you. I am very moved and feel a glimmer of restored faith in humanity. Highly recommend.
