What are the Rules for Receiving Communion All About My Catholic Faith

    • Christianity

30 - The Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches us in order to receive the Eucharist during Holy Communion at Mass, we need to be in a State of Grace, free from mortal sin. We also need to observe the required fast by not eating or drinking within one hour of receiving the Holy Eucharist. We should also be going to confession often to keep our souls clean as possible, free of all sin, mortal and venial. Receive communion as often as you can, even every day, as long as you only receive once per day.

Before and after communion, give thanks to God for the great gift he has given us and take time to pray for your special intentions.
