A unique form of storytelling

I have followed Within The Wires since its beginning and it has always been a fascinating listen. While it shares some similarities to Welcome to Nightvale, I have always found this show to be a far more interesting listen. Within The Wires takes the slow burn to a whole new level, so it may not be suitable for those who like to jump into action minutes into the first episode. But if you don’t mind the slower pace, this show presents a complex story that really asks the listener to pay attention. The star of this show is not its characters, but its world building. As the world slowly unfurls around you, there is a creeping sense of doom. Later seasons shed light to earlier stories, making you view them in new way.

Within the Wires is clever, dark and well worth the listen!

I love it the most

I have always been a fan of audio drama. Old timely radio, narrative music (Charles Mingus), Welcome to Nightvale all of it. Within the Wires has redefined the medium for me, I use guided meditation recordings to get to sleep, season one really messed with my mind (freedom, that’s a funny word) It isn’t the easiest to follow but it is always so worth it. I hope it never ends.

Ever Season Something New

Please please please give this podcast a try!! If you, like me, had some trouble getting into the first season, just keep going. Can’t get into it, pick another season! Every one is something new and different with surprising twists, characters and wonderful links between seasons. This is one of, if not my absolute favourite podcast both from WTNV and overall. Give it a try, open your mind and just believe.
