Genetically Modified Salmon is currently available in Canada.  Recent lifting of import restrictions will soon bring this salmon to The United States. There is already a hatchery that is priming for production.  What are the environmental and economical impacts of this?  We'll discuss this in further detail.

Before leaving office, President Trump signed a request to speed chicken production lines from 140 birds per minute to 175. President Biden has rescinded this request as one of his first executive orders after taking office.  We'll discuss this order, what it means, how it affects Big Chicken.

President Biden has nominated Tom Vilsak to return to his former Cabinet Position of Secretary of Agriculture.  Mr. Vilsak previously served as Secretary of Agriculture under the Obama Administration as the longest serving cabinet member.  We'll look at Mr. Vilsaks record from his previous tenure at USDA with an eye of what to expect in his next term.

The FDA has approved the use of genetically modified pigs.  While the use is mainly in medical uses, this is the first such approval the FDA has granted for both Medical and Food use.  We'll look at the uses for this GMO pig, what it's used for and who benefits.  We'll also look at the only protein product that the FDA has approved solely for food consumption and why 5 years after approval you can't buy it in the U.S. yet.
