Welcome to Cheshire Matters, the digital pub where we talk politics, news, and anything that matters (or doesn't) in our community, region, and country. Join us every week for a refreshing pint of satire as we navigate the world of politics. At Cheshire Matters, we're not afraid to tackle the tough issues, like why the neighbour's cat is running for mayor, or is the local coffee shop secretly controlling Parliament.
So pull up a stool, grab a cold one, and join our band of pub-goers as we laugh, cry, and rage at the absurdity of it all, where the news is serious and satire is always on tap.

The Reform UK Manifesto - everything you ever wanted?

The Reform UK Manifesto - everything you ever wanted?

We are proud to present Episode 8 P2 of two parts, of a new season of Cheshire Matters, Season 18 of your favourite 'digital' pub with discussions from the 'quirky three', filled with satire, humour (and more than a dash of sarcasm) featuring your absolutely fabulous, amazingly brilliant, witty and ridiculously talented 'Ab Fab', the delicious, delightful and delovely digital pub landlord (with the great hair do) podcast host Jonathan Starkey, with regular panelists Trevor Nicholls (the Gazelle) and Mark Hartley (Stats Man).

The 'Flab Two' and Skinny Minny 'Stats' are here for another lively discussion.

In P1 we discussed the manifestos of the parties vying for our votes. From the sublime to the ridiculous (actually mostly ridiculous).

In P2 we're grilling the Gazelle on the Reform UK Manifesto as he is standing in Warrington North as a Reform UK candidate (as if he hasn't reminded us on several occasions!).

This is a must listen to for everyone worldwide but also residents in Cheshire, MPs, counils and Councillors in Cheshire and all other public officials (in case we don't survive another week in the UK). Hope all public officials in authority are enhanced DBS checked? Cheshire Matters will be checking up on you. You don't really know who in public office you can trust these days!!!!!!!

Join us for our often humorous but sometimes serious commentary and insights on these subjects and more from the best digital pub with the best and most deliciously witty digital pub landlord in the UK (the guest panellists, apart from Stats and the Gazelle, are extremely minor entities along for the ride).

Another absolutely brilliant (and we mean absolutely brilliant and better than anything else that jumps out of your phone from Cheshire and beyond) JMN production for Cheshire Matters.

CWaC SEND Accountability UPDATE. What a lovely group of ladies

CWaC SEND Accountability UPDATE. What a lovely group of ladies

We asked the CWaC SEND Accountability team to come into the studio to give us an update on response from CWaC about their concerns and WHAT an update we received!

We don't like what we are hearing in relation to the current response to these courageous ladies and the their colleagues and supporters defending their children against the lack of action from the Special Educational Needs department of CWaC under the leadership of Cllr. Louise Gittins, Labour group leader but you judge for yourselves when you hear their side of the issues.

This is a must listen to for everyone worldwide but especially residents in Cheshire, MPs, councils and Councillors in Cheshire and all other public officials (in case we don't survive another week in the UK). Carpet baggers in General Elections - are they worth it to constituents?

The 'Flab Two' and Skinny Minny 'Stats' are here for another lively discussion.

In P1 we discussed the leaders debates and the BBC Leader's debate in particular. Has Farage caused the upset of the decade? We think he has.

In P2 we discuss carpet baggers (prospective MPs parachuted into constituencies who have no apparent connections to the constituency. In this case we're talking about Warrington North who have lost a number of Conservative Councillors in the last Borough election. Couldn't the Conservatives have found a candidate amongst them to stand in Warrington North instead of parachuting in a carpet bagger?
