    23. Doctor Who Review: Rosa

    23. Doctor Who Review: Rosa

The BlogtorWhoCast is back again to review the very latest episode of Doctor Who. 'Rosa' sees a retelling of the story of Rosa Parks in Montgomery, Alabama. Although the episode isn't as violent and brutal as it potentially could've been, there is something very uncomfortable about the situation. Bedwyr goes so far as to call it the most alien environment the TARDIS has ever taken the time travellers to. Susan picks up on some of the more comedic elements, the Steve Jobs reference being particularly amusing. Both reviewers were less impressed with the villain Krasko but huge praise is given to the scene of Ryan and Yas in the alleyway. Ultimately, given the tough subject matter, 'Rosa' proves to be an important piece of Doctor Who.

    22. Doctor Who Review: The Ghost Monument

    22. Doctor Who Review: The Ghost Monument

In this latest edition Bedwyr and Susan review ‘The Ghost Monument’. Whilst Susan has plenty of positivity for the episode, Bedwyr makes an unfortunate comparison with 'The Beast Below'. Things do however start with a positive and a wonderful new title sequence. There is also praise for the characters introduced in the episode. Similarly, the race across the 12 systems was also solid. Both Bedwyr and Susan were a little surprised with another mention of the Stenza. Last week, they agreed that T'zim-Sha was one of the weaker elements. The planet called 'Desolation' is also debated with particularly scathing criticism of the robot guards. Finally of course the new TARDIS interior is discussed with a less than glowing response for a few reasons.

    21. Doctor Who Review: The Woman Who Fell to Earth

    21. Doctor Who Review: The Woman Who Fell to Earth

The BlogtorWhoCast is back to review the very latest episode of Doctor Who. 'The Woman Who Fell to Earth' saw a new era for the show. But what did Bedwyr and Susan make of it all?
Our podcast duo start out by giving their overall reaction to the new episode. One is positive. The other not so much, but probably not for the reasons you might expect. Together they then breakdown the whole episode. First of all they discus the new friends of the Doctor; Ryan, Graham, Grace and Yas. All of these characters proved popular but would Jodie Whittaker's portrayal of The Doctor? Plus we had a new costume and sonic screwdriver to reveal. Those scenes are also discussed before attention moves towards the dramatic conclusion. Finally, Bedwyr and Susan ponder how the adventure will move forward next week.

    20. Doctor Who Review: The Doctor Falls

    20. Doctor Who Review: The Doctor Falls

Bedwyr and Susan are back with their brand of Doctor Who related conversation. In this episode our duo conclude their reviews of stories from Series 10 with 'The Doctor Falls'. There is huge praise for Peter Capaldi's penultimate performance. However, there are a number of problems with the episode that both Bedwyr and Susan struggled with, resulting in an interesting discussion for the BlogtorWhoCast.

    19. Doctor Who Review: World Enough and Time

    19. Doctor Who Review: World Enough and Time

Bedwyr and Susan return with their brand of Doctor Who related conversation. Although neither can quite work out what the episode title means, the story proves to be a huge hit. Bedwyr even goes out on a limb and declares it to be one of the best pieces of Doctor Who that he has ever seen. He even suggests that it tops the critically acclaimed 'Heaven Sent'. Both agree that whilst you see the direction that the episode is taking, it is the journey that it takes you on which makes it so memorable. Equally, if you did not know the history of the Cybermen then the story is just as gripping and dramatic.
