Wenn es um Geschichte geht, habe ich Lücken: Wissenlücken und motivationale Lücken, diese zu schliessen. Das liegt vermutlich daran, dass meine Geschichtsstunden in der Schule in erster Linie daraus bestanden haben, lange Texte von Wandtafeln abzuschreiben. Wenn es also jemand schafft, mich für mehrstündige Geschichtspodcastepisoden zu begeistern, dem gebührt ein Riesenkompliment. Dan Carlin hat das geschafft. Mit seiner einzigartigen Stimme und Diktion, mit Zitaten wie direkt von der vordersten Front, mit spannenden Einblicken und der Fähigkeit, Brücken zu gegenwärtigen Themen zu schlagen zieht mich "Hardcore History" immer wieder in seinen Bann. Eine tosende Naturgewalt, dieses Format.
