Self love?

I’ve heard this a lot of times too. And to be very honest, I was one among those who had this same impression about all men being the same after my break up and I was unable to think otherwise, or even anything at that point. I completely refrained from speaking to my male friends after that too, for a brief point of time, say around a year or so.

While one of the ways of getting over a break up also includes speaking out with friends, I decided to atleast meet them for once, for they haven’t done me any wrong and why should I be ignorant of people who genuinely cared for me, just because one took me for granted? And only as I started communicating with those people I once thought I never needed them anymore, it started to dawn on me that, Yes, not all men are the same. I was actually ashamed of thinking that way as a result of frustration, sadness and depression caused by just one male. And now, I have a handful of friends, most of whom are male and are priceless to me.

But looking around at the crimes that’s more often than not is against women, holding every male responsible for it is not going to set things right and it isn’t in any way right as well. Of course, I have come across men on my way back from school, college and now work and I have been really terrified of them and cannot wait to reach home, but apart from my male friends, I have felt safe around certain strangers on public transport as well.

Maybe we would have befriended or known a few men who are the same and cutting them off of our lives would be a better solution instead of the generalized conclusion.

I personally don’t and never will agree to this statement, atleast not anymore.

Now a days, people have learnt the wrong definition if failure. They need to know that No they didn't fail. They have tried. They will make it.
