E360 - Bob Young - True Golf - the story of Moe Norman and a new song with Bob's brother Neil Young

E360 - Bob Young - True Golf - the story of Moe Norman and a new song with Bob's brother Neil Young

Episode 360 - Bob Young - True Golf - the story of Moe Norman and a new song with Bob's brother Neil Young

Our Guest - Bob Young was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada in 1942. He was a member of the Canadian Professional Golfers’ Association for nearly three decades and first met Moe Norman in the early 1960s.
Like Norman, Young has always been intrigued by metaphysics and has had access to the leading trance mediums.
Young’s brother is Neil Young, the internationally recognized singer-songwriter.
Book: Mind Golf: The Troubled Genius of Moe Norman - At one of a series of clinics that former USPGA teacher of the year Craig Shankland staged, he asked Moe Norman in front of about 300 people, “What’s it like to hit perfect shots, Moe?” Moe paused and looked at the audience. Then, in jest, said, “You will never know.”

Mind Golf assembles and ignites the mental energy of the image of the shot-to-be. Moe “Pipeline Moe” Norman was a Canadian professional golfer and the best ball-striker the world has ever known. Author Bob Young met the eccentric golfer and traveled between Canada and Florida from the early 1960s to 2004, where he was able to observe Pipeline Moe for decades. Mind Golf is about life and golf and the metaphysical connection between Norman’s mechanics and Young’s perception of the mental construct of ball striking. The core of Mind Golf recounts the trail to Young’s discovery, which will help you discover it too.____

E359 - Michelle Mintz - All Done Binky, Pacifiers and their impact on proper speech and language skills

E359 - Michelle Mintz - All Done Binky, Pacifiers and their impact on proper speech and language skills

Episode 359 - Michelle Mintz - All Done Binky, Pacifiers and their impact on proper speech and language skills

Book: All Done Binky - It is important for a child to stop using their pacifier at a very young age in order to help develop proper speech and language skills. Parents have reported an increase in verbal language when their child completely stopped using their pacifier. This book helps parents and children learn how to wean off the pacifier. The story shows the steps involved beginning with removing it from outside the house, then not using inside the house during activities and finally eliminating it from the bed. The bright colors and simple words are exciting and relatable to young children who will want you to read it to them over and over again!

The Author: Everyone has a special gift. You may know what yours is or perhaps you have not yet discovered it. I am fortunate to know that my special gift is having the key that is needed to help children unlock the doors of communication. I have this wonderful ability to relate to children in such a way that they feel comfortable and have fun at the same time that they are blooming.
For over 25 years, my passion has been connecting and communicating with parents, grandparents, nannies, siblings and their babies from birth through five years old. Guiding both the children and adults during my sessions provides me with great joy and pride. To be present for the beautiful moment when a mom hears her child speak a word they have never spoken before is an inspiring and exhilarating shared experience.
Watching the looks of pure awe and joy from the families when they see their baby making those connections is what continues to drive my passion for helping other babies bloom.
    As babies bloom…families blossom.
Through my years of experience, I have discovered that coaching those who spend the most time with a baby such as parents, grandparents, and nannies to integrate my proactive strategies into their natural daily activities is the most impactful way to help a baby bloom.

E357 - Karen Gershowitz - Tourist vs Traveller - 95 Countries Visited and How to See The World

E357 - Karen Gershowitz - Tourist vs Traveller - 95 Countries Visited and How to See The World

Episode 357 - Karen Gershowitz - Tourist vs Traveller - 95 Countries Visited and How to See The World

About Karen GershowitzI was 17 years old, traveling alone, when I boarded a plane to Europe. Living in a different culture I experienced the world in new and surprising ways and discovered myself. My love of travel was born. I didn’t return to the US for three years.
Since then I’ve traveled to more than 90 countries. I climbed Kilimanjaro, conquered my fear of falling to go on an elephant trek in Thailand, spent time in Berlin shortly after the wall came down, stayed with a Japanese family who taught me to make sushi and made friends across the globe.
In pursuit of my passion for travel I’ve lost and gained friends and lovers and made a radical career change. Travel is my addiction, and I don’t want treatment
I studied ceramics in college and graduate school but abandoned that career and switched to marketing so that employers would pay for my travel. In my new career as a marketing strategist and researcher I’ve traveled the world conducting thousands of meetings, focus groups and interviews. My skills as an interviewer have persuaded total strangers to talk candidly about the most intimate of subjects, personal bankruptcy, illness, and religion. When traveling for pleasure, those same skills helped me to draw out people’s stories. I’ve learned about their lives, as well as local customs and fashions and what makes them laugh. These conversations often led to invitations for dinner and personal tours.
Travel Mania is a compilation of stories that explore how travel can change a life. Like my readers, I am an ordinary person. Through travel I’ve learned courage and risk taking and succeeded at things I didn’t know I could do.
Each story can be read and enjoyed independently. My hope is that they will tickle the travel bug in readers and encourage them to set off on their own adventures.
I live in New York City.

E356 - Debra Atlas - You Aren't Depression's Victim - Powerful Questions to Ask Yourself

E356 - Debra Atlas - You Aren't Depression's Victim - Powerful Questions to Ask Yourself

Episode 356 - Debra Atlas - You Aren't Depression's Victim - Powerful Questions to Ask Yourself

You Aren't Depression's Victim, a departure from Debra Atlas's usual journalistic writing, is designed to be uplifting and empowering. It offers readers thought-provoking ideas and possibilities.

Have you ever wondered if you had a choice when faced with depression? We often think we must automatically fall into the depression pit, that there's no other option. But what if you could see and recognize depression before it hit? What if we didn't have to fall down into that dark pit but could see it coming and do something to step back from it?

This intimate look into Ms. Atlas's lifelong journey with depression:

    * reveals how to identify where the edge of depression actually is,

    * provides tools to help you recognize depression before it hits,

    * shines a light on simple actions that can help us step back from the edge.

Living an "odd man out", roller coaster-like life, Atlas kept her depression hidden from family and friends – until she attempted suicide at age 14. From her emotional recovery to life at college, grad school and on to the Big Apple, Atlas strove to find meaning and balance while lacking the words or skills for her search. Living with a deep sense of inadequacy, her "I'm not good enough" constantly put a lid on her ability to be a star in her life.

A chance meeting with a therapist became a lifeline when Atlas faced an overwhelming emotional crisis. The therapy that followed opened the door to life-changing insights and to desperately needed tools that helped her gain clarity, confidence and equilibrium. This book is the culmination of that work. Through her hard work and the lessons learned from it, Atlas discovered that we have a choice, that we don't have to be a victim of depression, and this unlocked a bright path to living a balanced and fulfilled life.

    About the Author
Debra Atlas has been a newspaper columnist, freelance environmental journalist, radio personality, a professional speaker, a professional blogger and a green business practice consultant. A member of the Society of Environmental Journalists, her articles have covered topics as wide ranging as climate change, environmental conservation, sustainability, GMO-related issues, green innovation and agricultural themes.

A member of the Sierra Club since early 2000, Debra is also involved with animal rights and animal welfare and has supported numerous animal rescue organizations both in the U.S. and internationally. Aware of the line a journalist must walk, she is passionate about supporting animal rights and having those rights recognized at every level.

Born and raised in South Texas, Debra has lived and worked on both the East and West Coast, An outside-the-box thinker with a wide range of interests, she believes that finding daily inspiration is crucial to living a balanced, happy and fulfilled life.
