    Episode 14: Showing Support

    Episode 14: Showing Support

In episode 14, I talk about a couple of incidences in which I had panic attacks - what I was feeling and how it impacted relationships with acquaintances. I also discuss the support that I wish I would have received from those around me. As the life continues to move forward, others expect you to do the same. It's not so easy moving forward after experiencing a traumatic event and betrayal and abandonment are traumatic experiences. Family, friends and others in our lives need to give us time and loads of support.

    Episode 13: Regrets and Renewal

    Episode 13: Regrets and Renewal

In Episode 13, I discuss a couple of things that I did right after the bomb drop that I now regret. Let's just say that agreeing to buy a motorcycle probably wasn't one of the best decisions I made. I also examine the "why" behind doing what I did as well as suggestions for not doing something you may regret later. I also cover my own journey of renewal - where I am at right now in this process.
I read a quote from Thich Nhat Hahn's book, "Fear: Essential Wisdom for Getting Through the Storm, in this episode. This book was critically important for me last year as I worked through major fear of the unknown.

Episode 12: Interview with Vikki Stark

Episode 12: Interview with Vikki Stark

In this episode, I interview Vikki Stark, author of Runaway Husbands: The Abandoned Wife's Guide to Recovery and Renewal. Vikki shares her own story of being an abandoned wife and what led her to researching and then writing the book. She discusses the ambivalence and anger that runaway husbands show towards their abandoned wives. In many cases, men who abandon are in other relationships prior to the abandonment. She provides advice on helping kids (both younger kids and adult children) getting through this event. She also covers the real life physical impact that women experience when going through this traumatic event. She provides tips on stopping the obsessive thoughts that women have after the abandonment and not getting stuck in the healing process. She also offers advice on dealing with the other woman when there are kids involved.

Episode 11: Interview with Regina Gulbinas Part 2

Episode 11: Interview with Regina Gulbinas Part 2

This is an episode which discusses domestic violence. If you are triggered by this, you may wish to skip this episode. Domestic violence can happen to anyone. No body deserves to be physically, emotionally or psychologically abused. That's why it is so important to pay attention to early indicators of this type of behavior.
This is the second part of the interview with business woman Regina Gulbinas. In this part of the interview, Regina discusses the early red flags that her ex husband exhibited. She goes into more detail about why ignoring those early signs led her into a marriage in which there was domestic violence. She shares her story of what finally led her to leave her marriage and the battle she had to undertake in order to prevent her husband from leaving the country with their two children.
If you are a victim of domestic violence, there is help for you by going to the Domestic Violence website. You can also call 1-800-799-7233 if you are in the US.

    Episode 9: Mother's Day

    Episode 9: Mother's Day

Mother's Day may be difficult for some if this is the first (or second or third) one you are spending without your husband. For me, this is my second Mother's Day that I'm spending on my own. I share thoughts about this holiday when I was with my ex-husband and the plans I've made for this year's. My bottom line is do self-care in the way you need to do it for yourself.
Also, I'm moving my podcast to dropping on Mondays, which I explain in this episode as well.
Thank you for listening and please be sure to leave me feedback and share with anyone who you think might find this helpful.
