Silver Sparrow, Consensual Non monogamy & the virginity myth.
In this episode of “she reads”, Alma Limón talks about her latest read ”Silver Sparrow” by Tayari Jones. A novel set in Atlanta in the 80s which revolves around bigamist James Witherspoon's two families: the public one and the secret one. This story inspired Alma to learn about “Consensual Non-Monogamy” which refers to a romantic relationship in which all partners agree to engage in sexual and romantic relationships with others. Alma discusses the idea that one of the reasons why we can't wrap ourselves around the idea of open relationships is simply because we were not “raised” to do so.Listen to the episode on Apple podcasts or Spotify!
