Yoga Sutras Series ~ Samadhi Pada: 3 Heather Namaste

    • Spiritualität

Welcome back to the Heather Namaste Podcast my loves!

In this episode, I am breaking down the third yoga sutra of the first book, Samadhi Pada given to us by Patanjali from his book, The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.

1:3 Tada Drastuh Svarupe Avasthanam.  We will discuss the meaning of this sutra in-depth within this episode. Be prepared to take notes!

This first book, Samadhi Pada, is the portion on Contemplation. Samadhi Pada expresses the goal of concentration, as a means of achieving vairāgya (detachment) through abhyasa (practice). Patanjali explains that this is possible only with a balance between effort and letting go.

My favorite book on the Yoga Sutras is The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali by Swami Satchidananda Saraswati

Share this profound episode with the yogi friends in your life to remind yourself of the true purpose of your practice, to understand your barriers to happiness, to connect with the lineage of yoga, to build a lifelong practice, & to begin to live your yoga off the mat!
