-
- Religión y espiritualidad
Feeling Loudly is a podcast about the power of emotion, hosted by astrologer and diviner Jana of Feeling Loudly. We explore what it means to be a sentient being in a loud, wild, flailing world, and how mystical practices can support us in finding our center.
Jana is an Akashic Records reader, evolutionary astrologer, and tarot reader based in the Pacific Northwest. Their practice is rooted in queer, abolitionist, anti-capitalist values. You can learn more about their work and book a reading at feelingloudly.com, or find them on social at @feelingloudly. 5.18 — criticism [friday feels]
Welcome to our feel of the week: Criticism. We all have an inner critic. But for some of us, the critic becomes so loud that we mistake it as the voice of truth, or even intuition. Often, that voice comes from a fear of intimacy and a feeling of inadequacy that was taught to us by our caregivers, peers, and culture.
We might criticize the ones we love too, because criticism acts as a separating force — a way to keep them at arm’s length so it’s less painful if we lose them. Of course, it can be a form of control and abuse too. But for many of us, it’s a self-protective behavior meant to shield us from vulnerability. By reaching toward perfection in ourselves and others, we shut ourselves off to love and intimacy.
Criticism is complemented by the 10 of Cups, a Mars in Pisces card, reminding me of how criticism can fracture community, leaving us lonely and isolated from the ones we need most. It also brings me into the Pisces-Virgo axis — one that has a lot to teach us about self-sacrifice, acceptance, compassion, and reciprocity.
P.S. This episode was meant to be an AMA but I didn’t get any questions this month! Reminder that you can submit questions for future episodes via the Spotify episode page, the voice message link, or the contact form on my website.

5.17 — 9 of swords + ideation
Trigger warning: This episodes includes mentions of self-harm, psychosis, and trauma.
The 9 of Swords is a tricky card. Massive understatement. It draws us into some of the most shadowy corners of our mind, often triggering fear, paranoia, shame, self-loathing, and obsession.
In this episode, I talk about a bit about an acute mental health episode I experienced, and share some thoughts about the connection between our family of origin and the family of voices that live within us (AKA our parts, à la Internal Family Systems). I hope it offers support and perspective to folks who need it.
Here is a list of non-carceral mental health resources from Project LETS, an abolitionist, grassroots mental health org that supports people in crisis. This list includes crisis lines that do not work with the police and will not lead to involuntary hospitalization. I hope this supports you or someone you love, should you ever need it.

5.16 — attachment [friday feels]
This week’s feel: Attachment. Ouch. This was a very vulnerable episode and I hope it reaches the hearts that need it. I talk about my own history of enmeshed, unsafe relationships, and how I navigate the sticky feelings that come up when I feel attachment wounds rearing.
Our clarifying tarot card is The Chariot (our tarot card of the week!). The focus and intention of this archetype offers us some bonus understanding about the nature of attachment — and how we may always carry the scars of loss and trauma, but we have a choice in how we act on them. We have agency.

5.15 — the chariot + intuition
Our tarot card of the week is The Chariot, and it’s complemented by the Intuition oracle card, shedding light on the lunar energy of this tarot archetype. Chariot moments often involve decisions and preparations — we set our sights on the path ahead and then gear up to lurch forward.
That process is often a very intuitive one. “What path should I take?” And, nodding to Cancer, it often calls for an inner check-in. “Do I have the emotional capacity to make this take this path? Am I resourced enough to face the potential consequences of this decision?"
Asking these questions and can prepare us for aligned action if we're connected to our intuition. But if we're facing self-doubt and fear, we might get stuck in analysis paralysis and avoid taking action at all. I talk about my own relationship to intuitive decision-making, divining for myself, and waffling when I'm facing a scary choice.

5.13 — full moon in sagittarius
It’s our last lunation episode! These Full Moon/New Moon readings are moving over to Patreon starting on June 6, with our New Moon in Gemini. You can become a “Community” supporter for just $4/month to access them + my weekly Patreon-only episodes, AKA the Four of Wands podcast.
In this episode, I cover the themes of today’s Full Moon in Sagittarius, which is buoyed by a beautiful cradle, featuring big-hitters Neptune in Pisces and Pluto in Aquarius. After I talk astro, I get into our usual three-card tarot spread for this lunation.
Note: I recorded today’s reading thinking it would be for patrons only, so I framed many of my statements that way. Hope it’s not too confusing! Enjoy.
